Number one seed Tom Richards exited squash’s Cannon Kirk Homes Irish Open in the first round this afternoon after injury forced him into an early retirement.

Qualifier Mark Fuller led the opening game of the match 8-3 when English compatriot Richards called time on his tournament.

England’s Mark Fuller and Scotland’s Greg Lobhan also progressed to the next round after their opponents retired.
