Scott Evans and Chloe Magee win first matches at the Irish Badminton Open

Scott Evans and Chloe Magee both comfortably won their opening round matches at the Carlton Irish Badminton Open in Baldoyle this morning.
Evans beat Maxime Michel 21-14, 21-11 in his opening round match.
He players qualifier Daniel Groom of England later this evening for a place in tomorrow’s quarter-finals.
Magee was equally untroubled in her opening round match with qualifier Jelske Snoeck of Belgium, winning 21-13, 21-8.
In other matches, Tony Stephenson lost to Sweden's Mikael Westerback 15-21, 14-21.
Two seeded players are out of the men’s singles.
Fifth seed David Obernosterer narrowly lost to qualifier Rhys Walker of England 21-23, 19-21, while the number four seed Luka Wraber also Denmark went out to qualifier Patrick Kaeminitz of Germany.
