Martyn Irvine (27) will be Ireland’s sole representative in track cycling at London 2012. He will compete in the omnium event at the Games.

After the London qualifying event Irvine had 470 ranking points which qualified him for the Games.

Off the track Irvine cycles for the Giant Kenda Pro Cycling Team.

The Newtownards man has won the Irish National Road Race Criterium (2010, 2011), Irish National Track Time Trial (2010, 2011), Pursuit (2010, 2011), and Scratch Race (2011).

First in Olympic action on 4 August in the flying lap. Start time is 10am.
