Ryan Seaton (23) and Matt McGovern (25) teamed up in April 2009.

The duo finished teneth overall at the The ISAF World Sailing Championships in Perth to qualify for the Olympics.

McGovern is regarded as one of the best 49er crews in the world and has the previous experience of an Olympic campaign in 2008 with his brother Russell. He is a member of Ballyholme Yacht Club on Belfast Lough and a native of Bangor, Co Down.

Seaton was previously mounting a campaign in the single handed laser dinghy class. His best result being a fifth overall place in the World Championships at 18 years of age. He is one of the bright stars of Northern Irish sailing, and hails from Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, where he sails out of the local yacht club.

First in action on 30 July in the preliminary races. Start time is 12pm.
