Derry native Aileen Morrison (30) has been competing in triathlon for the last four years, and qualified at the end of last season for the Olympics, with a spot in the top 55 in the world guaranteed.

Her form coming up to London 2012 has been excellent with second place in the Madrid triathlon event in May.

That result was the best ever by an Irish triathlete.

Morrison had previously posted a second place at the Ishigaki ITU World Cup event.

In total, she has posted 11 top-ten positions on the world circuit over the past three years.

Morrison's website can be found here.

She is coached by Chris Jones in Lisburn and is a qualified PE teacher.

In action on 4 August. Start time is 9am.
