Nolan, from Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, qualified for the London Olympics by winning the AIBA European Olympic Qualifying tournament in Trabzon, Turkey, on 1 May 2012.

Nolan defeated Germany's Patrick Wojcicki to win the final on a countback.

By finishing in the top two at the tournament, Nolan secured a place at the Olympics.

From Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, this southpaw, age 25, is now a member of Bray Boxing Club where he trains alongside Katie Taylor and is coached by Katie's father Pete.

Nolan is a member of An Garda Síochána.

First in action on 29 July in the round of 32. Action starts at 1.30pm or 8.30pm.
