Scott Evans was born on 16 September 1987 in Dublin.

Winner of the Leinster U19 Open at aged 14 and his first senior Irish singles title at 17, Evans was earmarked for success early on.

Evans Was first capped for Ireland in the Thomas Cup in Greece at age 17.

In 2005, aged 18, Evans moved to Denmark for the purpose of training at a higher level.

He qualified for his first Olympics in 2008.

Evans is from South Dublin and is a graduate of Wesley College where he excelled at hockey, badminton and football.

Evans will be blogging for RTÉ.ie about his London 2012.

First in Olympic action on 28 July in the preliminary round. Start time is 8.30am.
