Andrzej Jezierski has qualified for the A final at the Canoe Sprint European Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, today.

Jezierski, who has won multiple medals with Poland at the World and European Championships, is settled in Ballincollig, Cork.

He declared for Ireland earlier this year and qualified in the C1 200 class for London 2012.

He finished third in yesterday’s heat and second in his semi-final.

The final is scheduled for Sunday morning at 11.41am Irish time.

Also on Saturday, Celbridge's Neil Fleming won a silver medal at the Canoe Marathon World Cup meeting in Denmark.

Twenty-six-year-old Fleming, who is a former world junior champion, will team up with Peter Egan in the K2 event tomorrow.
