Paralympic swim team just miss podium finishes

The Irish Paralympic Swim Team produced four great performances on the final day of the IPC Swimming European Championships in Berlin but fell just short of a podium finish.
All four Irish swimmers in action in the pool today came fourth in their respective races.
Stephen Campbell finish fourth in the S11 200m Individual Medley with a time of 2.42.64, similarly Darragh McDonald in the S6 100m Freestyle in 1.13.02, James Scully in the S5 200m freestyle in 2.56.88 and finally Ellen Keane in the S9 100m Butterfly in 1.13.55.
Overall the IPC Swimming European Championships have been a major success for the Irish Paralympic Swim Team.
The athletes have produced numerous life time personal best performances and the team returns home with two medals – Bethany Firth’s Silver in the S14 100m Backstroke and Darragh McDonald’s bronze in the S6 400m Freestyle.
