Chinese marksman Zhu Qinan won the Olympic men's 10m air rifle gold medal today with a new world record.
Zhu amassed 702.7 points to take gold ahead of compatriot Li Jie in silver and Slovakia's Jozef Gonci, bronze.
The 19-year-old's overall total surpassed the previous best of 702.5 set by Jason Parker of the United States in June last year.
It was China's sixth gold medal of the games and third in the shooting competition.
China's Wang Yifu won the men's 10-metres air pistol on Saturday after Du Li had won the first gold medal of the Olympics with a victory in the women's 10-metre air rifle event.
