The wife of Gianluca Pessotto has added to speculation that her husband tried to take his own life today - revealing that the former Italy international 'did not feel capable of being the team manager' at Juventus.
The 35-year-old fell from a balcony at Juve's headquarters in Turin and is still receiving treatment at the city's Molinette hospital.
His wife Reana Pessotto, who has been at his bedside since he arrived in hospital in the early afternoon, confirmed reports that her husband had been suffering from depression.
'He kept telling me that there was too much difference between being on the field and behind a desk,' she told gazzetta.it.
Juventus are one of four clubs - alongside AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina - who are to stand trial in front of a sports court this week as part of the investigation into possible match-fixing.
