Jari-Matti Latvala boasts a significant lead over Ford team-mate Petter Solberg heading into the final day of the Wales Rally GB on Sunday.

The Finnish driver continued his good form from day one yesterday, when he won the final four of the six stages overall, with three more stage wins today.

The last one on the Celtic Manor test saw him earn his first victory on an asphalt superspecial stage in the World Rally Championship to extend his advantage over nearest challenger Solberg to 24.5 seconds.

"The car was turning really well," said Latvala on www.wrc.com.

"I'm not usually so good on these stages but this was a fast one and it seems to suit me quite well."

Sebastien Loeb in third in his Citroen, 30.9 seconds behind Latvala.

Behind Latvala and Norwegian Solberg is Sebastien Loeb in his Citroen.

The Frenchman, who is 54 points clear of team-mate Mikko Hirvonen at the top of the WRC drivers' championship as he looks for a ninth successive world title, will hope to put pressure on the lead pair tomorrow, although victory looks to be out of his reach.

Norway's Mads Ostberg is in fourth place ahead of Hirvonen in fifth.
