The Dunlop National Rally Championship concluded in Bantry, west Cork where locals Denis Cronin and co-driver Coleman Hurley (Subaru WRC) took a 29.8 second victory over the Ford Fiesta WRC of Daragh O’Riordan/Tony McDaid.

Third-placed Roy White (MG S2000) and his co-driver James O’Brien secured maximum Dunlop points to clinch third overall in the series.

Meanwhile, in the rally.ie category of the Dunlop series – awarded for the top two wheel drive crew in overall standings – victory went to Donegal pair Declan Gallagher and Ryan Moore (Toyota Starlet), and they finished fourth overall.

Their only rivals for the title, Cavan’s, Jonathan Pringle / Martin Byrne crashed their Ford Escort out of the rally on the seventh stage.
