Campos Meta changes to Hispania Racing

The Campos Meta Formula One team, one of several newcomers due to make their debuts in Bahrain next week, has changed its name to Hispania Racing (HRT F1).

'The new team name signifies a new birth for our Formula One ambitions and highlights the incredible effort that is going on behind the scenes to ensure we make a successful debut in Bahrain on 14 March,' said team principal Colin Kolles in a statement.

The Spanish-based team have not taken part in any pre-season testing, with their future in doubt due to a lack of funding until Spanish businessman Jose Ramon Carabante took over last month.

Hispania said they would present the team in Murcia on Thursday.

Campos had Brazilian Bruno Senna, nephew of the late triple champion Ayrton, signed up as one driver while Kolles said last week that the team was close to finalising a deal with Indian Karun Chandhok.
