Irvine to attend WRC in Belfast

The Red Bull VW Touareg - the top team in cross-country rallying - will make a special appearance at the Super Special Stage of WRC when Rally Ireland kicks off on Thursday, 15 November in Belfast.

Northern Ireland's Eddie Irvine will turn back the clock and take to the wheel of the Red Bull VW Touareg.

Irvine famously drove in Formula 1 for Jordan and was a team-mate of all-time great Michael Schumacher at Ferrari.

The spectator-friendly event, which opens the first ever round of the World Rally Championship to visit these shores, sees the world's top drivers compete head to head around Parliament Buildings, with a flying finish over the specially-designed Creagh Bridge.

Rally Ireland will then move to Sligo where it will be based for the weekend.
