The Ireland men's hockey team have secured a place in the Road to London final with a 1-1 draw with Malaysia in their final group game at Belfield.

The final between Ireland and Korea, with a place at the London Olympics awaiting the winner, will be shown live on RTÉ Two and RTÉ.ie/Sport (Island of Ireland only) from 3.55pm on Sunday 18 March.

The teams met earlier this week in a game that finished in a 1-1 draw.

Korea, who are ranked sixth in the world, will be favourites to secure the coveted Olympic spot, but Ireland, ranked 16th in the world, have improved immensely in recent times and will be more than hopeful that home advantage in Belfield will help them achieve a historic qualification.

If the game finishes level at the end of normal time there will be ‘golden goal’ extra time, where the first team to score wins the game.

If there is no score in extra-time there will be a penalty shoot out to decide who will make the trip to London.
