Ireland’s Kevin Phelan remains in contention for a place on the European Tour following today’s action in Girona, Spain.

Currently, 32 players sit inside the cut mark for a Tour card on eight under par or better, with Phelan one shot off that on seven under after a round of 70.

David Higgins lies on level par following a 74, while Ruaidhri McGee is one over after a 75.

Spain’s Carlos Del Moral will enter the final day with a four-shot lead following a 65 at PGA Catalunya Resort that sees him on 21 under.

The Valencian extended his overnight lead by three shots over nearest challenger Fabrizio Zanotti with a seven under par round that contained eight birdies and his first bogey in 35 holes at the 16th.

The top 25 players and ties qualify for Tour cards.
