Lowry to tee off with McGinley

Shane Lowry will make his professional debut in the European Open at the London Club in Kent on Thursday.

And the Irish Open champion will be in familiar company as he is scheduled to play alongside fellow Irishman Paul McGinley for the opening two rounds, with England's Anthony Wall making up the trio.

Meanwhile, mobile phone company 3 have been confirmed as Lowry's first main sponsor since turning professional.

Lowry said: 'I'm absolutely delighted to be officially associated with the 3 brand as I begin my career on the PGA European Tour.

'As winner of the inaugural 3 Irish Open, it is fitting to announce 3 as my first commercial partner as a professional golfer.
