Woody Austin won his first PGA Tour title in six years after tense final day to the Sanderson Farm Championship ended in a three-man play-off, which the 49-year-old won on the first hole.

Austin, along with fellow American Cameron Beckman, were the stars of the final round during a tournament disrupted by adverse weather for the majority.

The duo shot rounds of 67 to tie with joint overnight leader Daniel Summerhays, who could only card a final round of 69 to take the tournament into a play-off.

Fellow overnight leader Nicholas Thompson finished two shots behind the leading trio while Billy Andrade was a further shot adrift after finishing the day with an impressive seven-under-par 65.

Austin becomes the eighth-oldest winner in the history of the tour and adds the title to the Buick Open, Buick Championship and Stanford St Jude Championship successes.
