Although Tiger Woods has embarked on an ‘indefinite break’ from golf, Pádraig Harrington expects him to be back soon.

Harrington also said said he did not have sympathy for the world number one.

Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show on Friday night, Harrington was asked if he had sympathy for Woods. He said: ‘No. I don’t have sympathy. You choose your own path’.

Asked if he liked Woods, Harrington said that the pair considered eachother friends, but added: 'You don't get to know Tiger Woods. He's defensive. He's always been somebody who keeps himself to himself. He would very rarely be in the locker room and very rarely be mixing.

But Harrington admitted that Woods was in a difficult position, describing his life as a fishbowl.

He said: ‘Everybody wants something from him. If (Woods) comes into the locker room, players are asking for autographs. So you just don’t see much of Tiger Woods.’

Like Woods’ caddie Steve Williams, Harrington also said he had no knowledge about Woods’ multiple affairs.

He said: ‘I’m out there on tour. I had no idea’, adding that Woods never boasted about his exploits.

‘I used to think he would go back to his hotel room very early and leave the golf course early. I just assumed he was playing video games! I thought his life was quite boring.’

He added: 'I expect him back sooner rather than later'.

Meanwhile, Woods has tonight lost another sponsor after Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer announced it would no longer use the golfer's image.

In an interview with Swiss newspaper Le Matin, due to be published in full tomorrow, Tag Heuer chief executive Jean-Christophe Babin said: ‘We recognise Tiger Woods as a great athlete, but we must take into account the sensitivity of some consumers in relation to recent events.’

The company said it would continue to support Woods' charities.

- Pádraig Harrington will be auctioning old equipment and memorabilia for GOAL at Harvey Nichols in Dundrum tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon from 11am to 1pm.
