Westwood waiting on Wentworth Place

Lee Westwood is waiting for confirmation that he will be part of the 16-man field competing for golf's biggest first prize, £1million, at the HSBC world match play championship at Wentworth in October.
Ten of the 16 are decided from the outcome of the four majors this year. Despite coming fourth in the Open last year Westwood, ended up 11th on the list. It is now expected that Masters champion Phil Mickelson will join Tiger Woods - exempt as world number one - in declaring himself unavailable.
Neither played in the event last year, but the sponsors will at least be happy that they do have the other three winners of majors this year - Retief Goosen Todd Hamilton and Vijay Singh.
Also confirmed participants already are last year's Masters champion Mike Weir and South Korean KJ Choi, third at Augusta in April.
