Mixed fortunes for Maguire twins in Spain

There were mixed results for the Maguire twins at the quarter-finals of the Spanish International Ladies Amateur Championships in Cadiz, as Lisa advanced to the semi-finals, but sister Leona bowed out at the quarter-final stage.

Lisa defeated England’s Holly Clyburn on the 21st hole to advance to the semi-finals where she will now meet Germany’s Antonia Scherer.

However there was disappointment for her 16-year-old twin Leona who lost her quarter final, going down 6 and 4 to Emilie Alonso of France.
