Kipur has half-way lead at KLM Open

Shiv Kapur followed up his fine opening round with a two-under-par 68 at the KLM Open in Hilversum and shares the lead with Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts at eight under par.

The Indian, who finished yesterday joint second with England's Kenneth Ferrie - two strokes adrift of Colsaerts, had a consistent, if unspectacular, round containing three birdies and one bogey to give him a total of 132.

ATodd Hamilton and Christian Nilsson who were a stroke behind Kapur after rounds of 67 and 65 respectively. Hamilton hit four birdies and a bogey while the Swede Nilsson had an eventful round containing an eagle, five birdies and two bogeys.

Damien McGrane is the best of the Irish on five under, while Peter Lawrie is two shots further back.

German Martin Kaymer, part of Europe's Ryder Cup team, matched his efforts yesterday with a 67 which saw him pick up three birdies on the back nine to be one of five on 134 along with England's Danny Willett, Brett Rumford, Joost Luiten and Jeev Milkha Singh.

Willett hit two bogeys, and just one birdie, on the way out but he picked up on the back nine with four birdies for a 67.
Overnight leader Colsaerts failed to match yesterday's standards and had already hit two bogeys and three birdies after 12 holes.
