Parnevik trying to keep quiet on Woods
Wednesday, 13 January 2010 15:41Jesper Parnevik, one of the few golfers to condemn Tiger Woods over his multiple affairs, has said he is now trying to keep quiet on the saga.
The Swede introduced Woods to his wife, Elin Nordegrin, who worked as an au pair for his family. But has admitted he felt a personal responsibility for the controversy that has played out over the last two months and was harshly critical of Woods when revelations about his private life began to surface.
Speaking at the upcoming Sony Open, he told AP: 'I've kind of stayed out of it. It's better that people don't approach me if I don't know anything. That way I don't say anything that I shouldn't have. Like if she told me something and I let it slip out. It's better that I don't know, so I can say, 'I don't know.'
He added that he was cautious about revealing any more of his personal feelings, saying: 'I have an idea through my wife. But I don't want to be the one who says something wrong.'
Asked by reporters if he thought Woods and Nordegrin should stay married, Parnevik said: 'That's what I mean. I can't say.'
