Niall Kearney of Royal Dublin shot a two under par 68 on the Tour Course moving him up to joint 36th place.
Former Royal County Down assistant, Simon Thornton, recorded a three over 75 on the Stadium Course putting him on level par after two rounds and in a precarious 65th place overnight.
Jonathan Caldwell also found the Stadium Course challenging and recorded a total of 77 leaving him on two over in 96th position.
St Margaret's John Kelly ended day two with 6 over par 78 on the Stadium Course and is in joint 149th place overnight.
There are two rounds, each over the Tour Course and the Stadium Course, before the field is reduced to 70 players plus ties to play two more rounds over the Stadium Course on Wednesday and Thursday next.
