Murphy gets Singapore sponsor's invite

Gary Murphy's late sponsor's invitation to play in this week's $5million Singapore Open has given him a lifeline to retain his European Tour Card.

Murphy is currently 123rd on the Race to Dubai standings and needs to be in the top 115 to retain his playing rights for next season when the final event concludes in Hong Kong on 15 November.

Nine Irish players are involved in Singapore including Padraig Harrington who was runner-up last year.
