Scott takes honours in Boston

Australia's Adam Scott fired a five-under-par 66 to win the Deutsche Bank Championship and earn his first victory on the US PGA Tour.

The 23-year-old, whose swing is almost identical to Tiger Woods', became the youngest winner on tour since Sergio Garcia captured last year's Mercedes Championship at 21. Leading by three overnight, Scott finished on 20-under 264, four strokes ahead of runner-up Rocco Mediate, winning $900,000.

England's Justin Rose took third place on 269, while Fiji's Vijay Singh was fourth, another shot back. Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke could not add to last week's NEC Invitational title ending with a disappointing 73 to finish 11 shots off Scott's winning total despite being just four shots off the lead after the third round.

"I think I have played exceptionally well this week and I made the most of it," said Scott after the win.
