Kerry and AFL star Tadhg Kennelly will be leading the hunt for the next Irish Aussie Rules star as Dublin City University hosts a ‘Combine’ trial next week.

Former Sydney Swans and 2009 All-Ireland winner Kennelly will oversee the Dublin trial, where 23 athletes from Ireland and the UK will be tested for agility, vertical jump, endurance, speed and skills.

The AFL International Combine is a testing session conducted by AFL Europe to source elite talent to attend the 2013 AFL Draft Combine in Melbourne in October.

“These tests are the same as those conducted in Australia and enable us to compare athletes from all over the world. The Combine looks for athletes and footballers with athletic prowess with the skill to potentially play AFL,” he said.
