TG4 Ladies' Senior Football Championship round 2 qualifier

Monday 4 August - Donegal v Kerry, Birr, 4pm

Donegal will come into this fixture as underdogs following a league campaign that ended in relegation. However, their results showed narrow defeats at the hands of some of the best teams in the country.

They were knocked out of the Ulster championship by the eventual champions, Armagh and gave a good account of themselves on the way. In Karen Guthrie and Geraldine McLaughlin they have some players that are sure to cause Kerry plenty of problems.

The Kingdom ladies are ranked as one of the top teams in the country but will still be reeling from a heavy defeat to Cork in the Munster Final; however, there is a feeling that William O’Sullivan used the opportunity to experiment with his line up.

The starting XV for the 2012 All-Ireland finalists is loaded with experience with quality players like Aislinn Desmond, Cáit Lynch, inspirational captain Bernie Breen and midfield partner Emma Sherwood.

However, it is in the forwards that there is huge potential with two time All Star winners Louise Ní Muircheartaigh and Sarah Houlihan joined by Louise Galvin and Lorraine Scanlon.
