The second of the TG4 All-Ireland Ladies' SFC semi-finals takes place in Birr with Kerry looking to upset a fancied Monaghan outfit.
SATURDAY 3 SEPTEMBER
TG4 LADIES' ALL IRELAND SFC SEMI-FINAL
Kerry v Monaghan, Birr 5.00pm
Monaghan have looked like serious contenders for the Brendan Martin Cup throughout their Championship campaign, cruising through the Ulster Championship before overcoming Meath 2-13 to 0-8 in the All-Ireland quarter-final last month.
The Ulster Champions have been impressive from 1 to 15 this season and look well equipped to win their first All-Ireland title since 1999. Kerry on the other hand, were defeated by Cork in the Munster final but bounced back well with impressive victories over Donegal and Mayo in the All-Ireland series.
Many had predicted a Cork, Monaghan final at the beginning of the All-Ireland series and considering the the Farney Ladies performances throughout the Championships to date, they go into this one as marginal favourites.
However they also went into the League semi-finals as favourites and they failed to deliver. Don’t expect Kerry to go down without a fight either.
