North Melbourne Kangaroos midfielder Daniel Wells will captain Australia in this year’s International Rules Series against Ireland.

The 28-year-old previously played in the Series back in 2003 and 2005 and will lead his country in the upcoming Tests at Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan and Croke Park.

Aaron Davey, who retired at the end of the 2013 AFL season, has been named as vice-captain.
