Cork dual star Damien Cahalane is believed to be recovering well from a gash on his heel suffered in the aftermath of the Rebels' defeat to Kerry in the Munster football final.

Calahane stood on a medicinal vial in the shower at Páirc Uí Chaoimh and sustained a gash that required glue stitches.

However, the Irish Examiner is reporting that the Cork management believe Calahane should be fit to face Limerick in the Munster hurling final on Sunday.

Mark Ellis' knee injury looks set to keep him out of the tie, making Calahane's availability all the more crucial.
