Cork defender Mark Ellis will be available for his side’s Munster SHC final against Limerick on 13 July despite suffering knee ligament damage in Sunday’s semi-final victory against Clare.

Ellis was replaced by Eoin Cadogan in the 67th minute of the Rebels’ 2-23 to 2-18 win at Semple Stadium, but the centre-back’s injury isn’t regarded as serious.

A statement on Cork’s official website read: “Following assessment by the medical team, Mark Ellis has been diagnosed with slight damage to his knee ligaments, having come off injured during Sunday's game.

“Management are confident that Mark will be fully fit for the Munster final.”
