Waterford hurler Phillip Mahony’s season is over after he suffered a double leg-break in a club game at the weekend. 

The Ballygunner man is to have surgery on a double leg-fracture and a dislocated ankle today.

Maurice Shanahan and Stephen Molumphy are also doubts for Waterford's Munster championship opener against Cork on 25 May.
