Joe Canning, scorer of ten points against Mount Leinster Rangers in the All-Ireland club hurling final, says Portumna can add to their recent haul of titles.

The Galway side claimed their fourth Tommy Moore success on St Patrick's Day in Croke Park, adding to wins in 2006, 2008 and 2009.

Canning told RTÉ Sport: “There’s a lot of people who were saying that ‘It’s the same old team’, but 50% of the panel, it’s their first day here so it’s a great occasion for the community, all our supporters.

“Down through the years it’s been a magical period and we still have a lot of young guys coming along – we’re not finished yet.”

Portumna beat Mount Leinster Rangers on a 0-19 to 0-11 scoreline yesterday, with strong performances from both Joe Canning and older brother Ollie key to their success.
