Tyrone senior hurling manager Tom Magill and under-21 football manager Raymond Monroe will not be seeking further terms with their respective teams.

Magill has managed the hurlers since 2011 and led them to Lory Meagher Cup success 2012, but they lost heavily to Roscommon at the semi-final stage this year.

Tyrone county chairman Ciaran McLaughlan said of Magill: "Tom Magill took over the senior hurling team in 2011, and immediately brought about a renewed determination within our senior hurlers.

"He oversaw a Lory Meagher Cup success 2012 and demonstrated how hurling in Tyrone can move forward into the future. The performance of the team in this year’s Nicky Rackard Cup and the recent victory in the Ulster U21 Hurling Shield illustrate the influence Tom has had."

McLaughlan then paid a glowing tribute to Monroe, saying: "Since taking over the county minor team in 2006, and subsequently the Under 21 team in 2011, Raymond and his assistant Cathal McAnenly have enjoyed tremendous success in delivering two All Ireland minor titles in 2008 and 2010, three Ulster minor Championships in 2007, 2008 and 2010 and reaching two Ulster Under 21 finals in 2011 and 2012.

“Raymond put a massive effort into bringing success to Tyrone football and will undoubtedly be a major loss to coaching within the county.”
