Tipperary forward Lar Corbett is set to miss the opening game of the Munster Championship after suffering broken ribs in their League final defeat to Kilkenny.

The Premier County face Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds on 9 June and Corbett, who was sent off against the Cats, has conceded that he is unlikely to be fit for the clash.

“That is what they are saying. That it is four to six weeks [out] but I am not ruling out anything,” the 2010 Hurler of the Year said in the Irish Times.

However, with a one-match ban likely following his red card for a clash with JJ Delaney, who was also sent to the line, he may be ineligible even if fit.
