Kilkenny selector Martin Fogarty says they will follow the template Brian Cody has laid down as they prepare face Tipperary in the Allianz National Hurling League final.

Fogarty, along with fellow selector Michael Dempsey, is in charge of preparing the Kilkenny team for Sunday's tie in Nowlan Park as Brian Cody continues his convalescence from recent surgery.

“Brian has put a structure in place where everyone just gets on with the business,” Fogarty told KCLR radio in Kilkenny.

“Players play the matches and Brian would always hand over ownership to the players.

"We will be saying that in the meeting on the Friday night before the match and again in the dressing room on Sunday.

“Brian always says it is up to the players. The game is not going to be won and lost on the sideline.

“We would have the ultimate confidence that the players know what they are about. They have not won what they have won over the years without being able to do the business.”
