The GAA County Board in Galway has expressed disappointment after a 2012 Leinster Hurling final winner's medal was sold on eBay this morning.

A total of 41 bids were made and it was eventually sold for €570 euro.

It is understood that the medal does not belong to any of the players who faced Kilkenny in Leinster final, but to another, yet unknown, squad member.

Jarlath Cloonan from the Galway County Board's Hurling Committee said the incident was regrettable and that the Board would be investigating.

Galway won the Leinster senior hurling championship for the first time last year.
