Doubts surround the future of Dublin hurler Alan McCrabbe after the player failed to report for squad training after the winter break.

Manager Anthony Daly did invite the 2009 All Star to be part of his plans for this season, but work commitments are believed to be reason for McCrabbe’s no show so far.

It is not known yet how long Daly will wait before making a decision on whether to omit the player from his plans.

Over the last two seasons, McCrabbe has not been a regular on the Dublin side, with Paul Ryan now the regular free-taker.

Dublin begin their Allianz NHL Division 1B campaign at home to Offaly on 23 February.

For that competition and this year’s championship Tomás Brady, Ciarán Kilkenny, Cormac Costello and Eric Lowndes have all declared for Jim Gavin's football side.
