Bord na Móna Walsh Cup
Wexford required extra-time to see off the challenge of DIT in the first round of the Walsh Cup at Blackwater.
Wexford full-forward Mick O’Regan was sent off before Gary Moore’s last-minute point levelled the game at full-time, 0-21 to 2-15.
But Wexford pulled away in the extra period, helped by Paul Morris’s goal, to book a home quarter-final meeting with Offaly next weekend on a scoreline of 1-29 to 2-19.
Elsewhere, NUIG had nine points to spare over Westmeath, 3-15 to 0-15, UCD scraped past Laois 0-15 to 1-11 in Rathdowney and Carlow ran out 1-17 to 0-10 winners over Antrim.
