Sunderland and backroom team return to Kildare

Willie Sunderland and his backroom team have returned to manage Kildare's senior hurling team just weeks after stepping down from the position.

Sunderland and his management team stood down in the days leading up to Christmas, the manager admitting he felt he was 'just not in control of the team any more'.

But, in a statement released this afternoon, Kildare County Board revealed the return of Sunderland and his team.

The statement said: "Agreement has been reached on all concerns raised by the management team.

"Players and management are now looking forward to returning to training with immediate effect and focusing on the year ahead."
