Tipperary and Kilkenny to face-off on Tuesday

The NHL Division 1 clash between Tipperary and Kilkenny, which was cancelled on Saturday due to snow, has been rescheduled for Tuesday night at Semple Stadium.
Throw-in is 8pm.
It has also been announced by the Central Competitions Control Committee that there will be free admittance.
Saturday’s game was abandoned by referee Barry Kelly after a heavy snow storm hit the area just prior to the 7.30pm throw-in time. Kelly delayed the start by ten minutes; however, after closer inspection the pitch was deemed unplayable.
Both managers backed Kelly’s decision on the night.
Tipperary boss Liam Sheedy said: ‘The surface is too tricky.
‘And looking up in the sky into the lights, it (the snow) looks like a thousand hurling balls coming down on top of you.
‘It’s just unplayable, which is unfortunate for everyone but in fairness to Barry, he was left with no choice, there was nothing he could do.’
Kilkenny supreme Brian Cody was in full agreement: ‘There was no other choice, it was unplayable.
‘It’s a shame the snow came as it was building up to be a genuinely decent game and that’s what everyone was looking forward to. But the referee had no choice - the safety of players supersedes everything.’
