Limerick delegates back McCarthy

Club delegates in Limerick have voted to keep Justin McCarthy as manager of the county's senior hurlers while Ger O'Loughlin has been ratified as manager of Clare.
The vote in McCarthy's favour was taken at a special meeting that was held to discuss his future. His position had become the subject of speculation after he dropped twelve members of last year's Championship squad, and subsequently had twelve more walk out in protest.
Club delegates voted by 70 votes to 54 to retain the former Waterford boss.
In Clare, as widely expected, former All-Ireland winner O'Loughlin will take over from Mike McNamara, who stepped down this week after clashing with his squad over the last number of months.
