O'Loughlin in the frame for Clare job

Ger O'Loughlin is now the clear favourite to become the next Clare hurling manager, pending Mike McNamara's resignation from the post this week, according to reports.
McNamara's position has become all but untenable with the county's players determined to see him leave his post.
McNamara held a meeting with the squad on Sunday but there is little softening in the mood of players who have previously written to the county board asking that the manager be removed, and they look likely to get their wish.
O'Loughlin was part of the Ger Loughnane team of the 90's that claimed All Ireland success in 1995 and 1997 and has more recently been with Limerick club team Adare, whom he lead to three county titles in the last three years.
John Minogue, the man who guided Clare to All-Ireland U-21 glory in September has ruled himself out of the running to replace McNamara.
Minogue and Cyril Lyons are believed to be the county board's prefered choice but their lack of interest leaves the way clear for O'Loughlin.
