Ryan confirmed as Tipperary captain

Tipperary County Board have confirmed that Willie Ryan will be captain of the Senior Hurling team for the 2009 season.

Ryan led the Premier County through their Waterford Crystal Cup campaign but he faced competition for some of his Toomevera colleagues for the permanent role.

However, after consultation with management the Board, Ryan has prevailed.

Conor O’Mahony has been confirmed as vice-captain.
