John McIntyre has replaced Ger Loughnane as Galway’s Senior Hurling manager.

The former Offaly manager was handed a two-year term in the role following ratification at a county board meeting last night.

Meanwhile, there was no decision regarding a backroom team for the Cork hurling squad.

Teddy McCarthy was expected to join the set-up, but it is believed more time is needed by manager Gerald McCarthy before any names are confirmed.
