Buffers Alley have been successful in their appeal against the decision of Wexford GAA to disqualify them from the Michael Baker County Under-21 hurling championship.
Both Buffers Alley and St. Martin's lodged appeals to the Leinster Council against the decision of the County Hearings Committee to disqualify them from the Under-21 championship. It had also been recommended that both sides be fined €3000 each which was reduced to €1500 by the County Hearings Committee.
The sides county Under-21 championship game had been abandoned ten minutes from the end with the Alley leading 2-16 to 1-8, by Referee Justin Heffernan as the result of melee invoilving players, mentors, club officials and supporters.
Leinster Council upheld the Buffers Alley appeal but refused the appeal of St. Martin's. The Alley will now be allowed participate in the county championship.
