Anthony Rainbow has stepped down as Carlow football manger after two seasons in charge.

The high point of his tenure was the All-Ireland qualifier victory over Waterford on 28 June. Either side of that, however, were heavy defeats at the hands of Meath (Leinster quarter-final) and Clare.

In this year’s Allianz League, Carlow finished bottom of Division 4.
