Paul Bealin's tenure as the manager of the Westmeath senior football team has come to an end after just one year in the job.

The former Dublin footballer was not ratified for a further year after delegates at this evening's County Board meeting voted by 37 votes to 12 to remove Bealin from his position.

Westmeath failed to win any of their matches in this year's Allianz League and Championship campaigns.

Clubs delegates told the meeting that a new evaluation process for appointing future manager needed to be put in place.
